| YES! A dream some true. Those of you who know me wont find this surprising, those who think I'm shallow might be shocked! This year one of my biggest dreams is coming true. I always dream of being the kind of person who gives until it hurts, and I used to wanna be the dumbest rich guy:) Atleast dumb in the sense that I would spend every dime I get by giving to the poor. Well this year I made an interesting friend and we are going to be helping a family! My friend had a dream that God led her to a trailer park to whitness and then revival broke out! So she stumbled upon the trailer park that she saw in her dream, and before she knew it people were getting saved like crazy and now they have 4 bible studies a week! So she took me to meet one of the families and I wanted to do something big for them on Christmas. So I was going to get a pro football player I know to deliver presents to them and raise support to buy the gifts. The football player was ready to go and everything was looking great until he had to leave town on the 11th, which was a minor bummer but we still felt determined to make this happen. So, tomorrow, we are going out to buy presents for the family, and then we are going to deliver them along with food! I am so excited about this, but what's even cooler is that I ran into a photographer for the biggest local paper in charlotte and the lady submitted it as a story to her paper and now they are going to be sending a photographer to follow us and then writting a story that will be in the paper with photo's for Saturday!!! This is so cool because my friend lives off of monthly support so this article should make her supporters more willing ot support her! this is so cool and I am so excited. I've always been afraid to take initiative like this, but I guess God just wanted this to happen and now it is and it is so crazy! I love it! | | |
| This is a copy of an e-mail I sent to Rush today! Hey Rush, My name is Dante LaTerra and I had to write to you and tell you this. On my way into work this morning I turned on the radio to listen to what some urban hip hop stations had to say. Needless to say I was fishing to hear something stupid, and without fail I heard the worst thing that could have possibly been said! 3 people called in and said “Paint the White House BLACK!” “Paint the white house black” how pathetic and ridiculously twisted is that statement. Come to find out these are lyrics to a song. Why do I feel like the black panther’s are chasing me down? Then there’s our ever increasingly genius press! They praise Obama and act as if all of America is so happy to have him in office! He won the popular vote 52% to 46%. Since when is 52% an overwhelming majority? I’ll bet you 46 people who are upset that Obama is in office could deliver a good whooping to the 52 happy Obama supporters. I think the big difference in the fight would be that the Obama supporters were expecting Obama to fight for them, while the angry 46 McCain supporter’s realize that victory is the sole responsibility of an individual. | Recently, I am amazed again at God, Needless to say, it seems as if years have passed since I truly felt the spirit move. I feel like life is hauling and my relationship with God has been crawling. I had lost that incredible lofty, unexplainable, completely amazing view of God. How could his divinity ever be lame? How could it have grown typical????? Good question, but the answer is easy and it's called distraction. I got so busy, and was so focused on getting myself out of the whole I was in, and trying to get money and fight to get ahead. All the responsibilities and demands of life can easily distract, it's as if life can be one of the devil's biggest tools to steal our attention from God. So, I decided it was time to push for God, I know that if I chill in church long enough God will grab me. So I started going to 2 services on Sunday, one on tuesday and occasionally a bible study or something during the week. I know our walk needs to be personal, and intimate, but let's face it, the enemy uses events and responsibilities to distract us so why not us an event to focus yourself(Church)? Then the other night I picked up a book I read a while back which really excites me about God, it's called "Knowledge of the Hole" by A W Tozer. In the book Tozer gets me really excited about God, he uses scriptures like..... I dont have the book in front of me, but there is a verse, and I know it well but cannot think about it right now. HE uses a verse where someone see's something similar to the Glory of God, it as in the appearance of, and similar to and kind of like this that:) I love it! ?Because God is so incredible that we cannot understand him, Tozer talks about how our mind can only maje a bridge to the "Unknown" by using what we know, or instance, we create and invent stuff based on what we know, but what since God is too big for us to understand he remains in the unknown..... The first two chapters of this book will change your life and how you view God, and it will make worship so much more amazing. I recomend reading it:) I actually gave my copy away to a waiter who is really cool and is investigating God right now, but if you want a copy I will buy it for you and send it to you. | Thats right, I don't want a black man in office, am racist, not at all, I just sound like 5 or 6 black people I ahve talked to. They want Obama cause he is Black, and he can make history!! Well, I want McCain because he is white(Iam not serious, only making a point). Funny thing is that when I say I want McCain because he is white, I make everything about race, then other funny thing is that I have NEVER heard a white person say they are voting for McCain because he is white, which must mean that white people are over racism, and don't care about skin color. But so many black people I talk to who are voting for Obama say they are doing so because he is black and that it's time for America to ahve a black leader. What I am wondering is why would a black person vote based on race? Why would you bring up the whole color issue? I don't know exactly why they would, but I do know that as a white middle class male I dont get any scholarships, I dont get any benefits, I get nothing, but my last paycheck had nearly 40% taxes taken from it. I'm not actually making any kind of profound statement except to say that I am frusterated. I love a rap song by "The Game" which says "And F+%$ jessee jackson cause it aint about race now" AMEN | | |
